Przedmiotem pracy jest refleksja nad efektywnością kształcenia na odległość w procesie nauczania/uczenia się języka obcego. W oparciu o możliwości wykorzystania nowych technologii, Autorka postawiła sobie za cel ocenę skuteczności oraz analizę specyfiki metody nauczania na odległość w rozwijaniu kompetencji wypowiedzi pisemnej w języku obcym w stosunku do klasycznego nauczania. Punktem odniesienia dla zaplanowanych badań była analiza właściwości metody zdalnej oraz technik informacyjnych i komunikacyjnych (TIK), refleksja nad procesem redakcyjnym w języku obcym oraz pogłębienie wiedzy na temat dydaktycznych i społecznych aspektów edukacyjnej przestrzeni wirtualnej (klasa wirtualna). Na podstawie zarysowanej tematyki, przeprowadzono badania eksperymentalne z wykorzystaniem przestrzeni wirtualnej.
