Ellis Parker Butler

Ellis Parker Butler (1869-1937) was a contemporary of many big names in American fiction straddling the 19th and 20th centuries, but today hes almost completely forgotten. Butler, the author of more than 30 books and more than 2,000 stories and essays. His writing spanned more than forty years and his stories, poems and articles were published in more than 225 magazines. Perkins of Portland are amusing tales showing the effectiveness of advertising some rather questionable products. Perkins and the narrator partner in promotions directed at a gullible and willing public. Unlike most tales of the kind, with moralistic endings where the sharps come to grief, Perkins and Co. become wealthy and quite pleased with themselves.

Tak - ludzie, zgodnie ze swoją naturą, grają. W firmowe piekło lub niebo, umieranie lub rozwój. A Ty, jako lider lub członek zespołu, masz wpływ na zasady gry i wybór scenariusza - na to, czy będzie on prowadził ku Jasnej Stronie Zarządzania. Wybierz przyjazną dla siebie krainę w Atlasie gier (nie tylko) korporacyjnych, która gwarantuje pracę w poczuciu sensu i atmosferze zaufania. Ja wybrałam Younicorn! W swoim zawodowym życiu przeczytałem wiele książek "rozwojowych" i biznesowych. Ta zdecydowanie wyróżnia się na ich tle. Po pierwsze, nie jest przeintelektualizowana - wręcz przeciwnie, daje sam łatwo przyswajalny konkret. Po drugie, opiera się na autentycznych historiach z polskiego biznesu, a nie badaniach tzw. amerykańskich naukowców. Dostajemy w niej śmieszno-straszne opisy tego, co ludzie robią sobie w pracy. Na koniec każdej gry zaś otrzymujemy narzędzia do poprawienia własnej sytuacji: test autodiagnostyczny i przestrzeń na autorefleksję, o której zapominamy w codziennej gonitwie, pośród targetów, KPI i milestone'ów. Autorka, którą jako twórca Mordoru na Domaniewskiej cenię za kierowanie na Jasną Stronę Zarządzania, przedstawia sposoby diagnozowania sytuacji swojej i zespołu oraz wskazuje kroki niezbędne do przejścia z Ciemnej, na Jasną Stronę firmowej Mocy. Jeśli więc szukasz wskazówek, jak wydostać się z zawodowego Mordoru lub innej gry korporacyjnej, w którą grasz, to znajdziesz je w tej książce.
