This script is dedicated primarily to students of an engineering degree, studying at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the Bialystok University of Technology, carrying out laboratory exercises under the Erasmus + program. The thematic scope of the script includes exercises related to the construction and operation of power installations and equipment, as well as exercises associated with the testing of the effects of current flow by electrical power equipment. Each of the exercises comprises a theoretical part, in which the information necessary to understand and solve the problem of the exercise, the description of the test stand, the research program and the needed information that should be included in the student report have been presented.

This book features the competences and skills that university students as future leaders should acquire in order to work in multicultural teams. Multicultural teams have become the basic unit for many organizations. Combined work using different technology, places, time zones, persons of different cultures require knowledge and skills to lead this team. Unreflective teaching methods can cause a lower level of efficiency and effectiveness. Computer Aided Design (CAD), over the years, has become one of the best methodologies for fulfilling engineering and technological needs through advanced numerical methods. CAD is considered as a mature solution, however analysis of current studies and practical examples indicate it as a deceptive illusion. CAD technology remains a rapidly growing class of methods and numerical schemes with applications in industries such as electronic, automotive, civil engineering, mechanical, biomedical and multidisciplinary projects. A number of books and papers are available on computer aided design and computer aided engineering methods. In the design, manufacturing and application processes, a thorough understanding of the properties of various technical solutions is required. Using numerical simulations, we are able to verify design assumptions, predict variations in properties and increase productivity. The current state of CAD solutions is confronted with new challenges. Specific, sophisticated engineering solutions demand the search for new algorithms as well as determine new areas of implementation. The specific methods of CAD are of interest in many industrial applications involving automation, electric and electronic instruments, electrical systems, motors, renewable energy, wireless communication, material technologies, etc. The numerical simulations can reveal valuable information on the analyzed system. Multivariate analysis and design optimization are obvious and well known extensions of CAD methods and the importance of which cannot be overestimated. The aim of this book is to provide a broad overview of CAD algorithms and to discuss the applications of CAD methods in different areas. Presentation of issues related to diverse fields provide an opportunity to learn specific solutions and it also provides an opportunity to explore wider responses for the developed methods in other areas. The analysis of various fields serves as an illustrative presentation of the strength of CAD methods.

Prezentowane drugie wydanie niniejszego podręcznika niewiele odbiega od wydania pierwszego opublikowanego w roku 2013. Skorygowano jedynie nieliczne usterki zauważone od chwili ukazania się pierwszego wydania i poprawiane na bieżąco w kolejnych latach w uzupełnianych i udostępnianych erratach, ponadto dokonano bardzo niewielu poprawek tekstu i rysunków. Oryginalna wersja niniejszego podręcznika (wydanie 1) powstała na podstawie wieloletnich doświadczeń autora w prowadzeniu przedmiotów z zakresu metod numerycznych na Wydziale Elektroniki i Technik Informacyjnych Politechniki Warszawskiej, przede wszystkim przedmiotów "Metody Numeryczne" (dla studentów kierunków Informatyka i Automatyka i robotyka) i "Numerical Methods" (dla studentów studiów w języku angielskim Electrical and Computer Engineering). Powstała jako podsumowanie i rozszerzenie wielu poprzednich materiałów do wykładów, sukcesywnie doskonalonych i na bieżąco dostępnych dla studentów na wydziałowych stronach przedmiotów. Autor chciałby w tym miejscu podziękować wszystkim studentom aktywnie uczestniczącym w prowadzonych zajęciach, za zgłaszane uwagi do sposobu prezentacji, za wykrywane usterki edycyjne. Uwagi te w istotnym stopniu przyczyniły się do poprawy jakości niniejszego opracowania.

Metodyka analizy strategicznej przedsiębiorstwa na potrzeby integracji produktowo-usługowej

W niniejszej pracy obszarem zainteresowań naukowych są procesy dotyczące łączenia usług oraz produktów fizycznych w sektorze przemysłu, a w szczególności w sektorze produkcji maszyn i urządzeń. Na potrzeby prowadzonych rozważań przyjęto autorską definicję badanego zjawiska integracji produktowo-usługowej jako wszelkich usystematyzowanych działań podejmowanych przez przedsiębiorstwa produkcyjne, mających na celu zwiększenie zakresu świadczonych usług, tworzących wartość dodaną w dotychczasowej ofercie przedsiębiorstwa zorientowanej na wyroby.
