 Niniejsza monografia przedstawia krytyczną analizę podstaw teoretycznych i metodologicznych dla badań dyspozycyjności leksykalnej w języku hiszpańskim. Badanie zasobu będącego w dyspozycji mentalnej użytkowników języka wydaje się być niezbędne dla poznania nie tylko podstawowego i najczęściej używanego słownictwa, tj. słownictwa bazowego, ale także słownictwa potencjalnego określonej grupy społecznej w konkretnych sytuacjach komunikacyjnych. Na podstawie szerokiego przeglądu bibliograficznego autor dokonuje analizy najbardziej znaczących danych w ramach tzw. Proyecto Panhispánico, przedstawiając różne obszary lingwistyczne, w ramach których są prowadzone niniejsze badania. Monografia Antonio Maria López’a Gonzalez’a stanowi z jednej strony podsumowanie dotychczasowych osiągnięć wyjątkowo rozległych studiów, często o charakterze interdyscyplinarnym, dotyczących badania leksyki potencjalnej języka hiszpańskiego jako języka rodzimego, a z drugiej, ocenę możliwości ich dalszego rozwoju i wykorzystania w celu optymalizacji podejmowanych w świecie hiszpańskim nowych przedsięwzięć leksykograficznych i innych językoznawczych, związanych z naukami pokrewnymi.
