Przeciwnie ― to młody, przystojny mężczyzna.
George Owen Baxter
No writer captured the excitement, humanity, or adventure of the American West better than Max Brand. And nowhere was Brands talent more evident than in this classic short novel. Prolific in many genres he wrote historical novels, detective mysteries, pulp fiction stories and many more. In The three crosses, a practical joke gets out of hand and turns an earnest cowboy into a hard-riding yahoo. The Three Crosses, an ominous prediction leads a cowpuncher to a showdown with a notorious gunfighter. Experience the West as only Max Brand could write it!
Maurice Leblanc
In The Three Eyes, author Maurice Leblanc veers away from the Sherlock Holmes-style mysteries that were long his stock-in-trade and mixes things up by introducing some science fiction elements. Maurice Leblanc was a 20th century French writer best known for his short stories. Leblancs first foray into pure science fiction. Scholar Dorgeroux dies before completing his mysterious message whether its a formula or the name of his murderer remains unclear. Added the mystery, a revelation that Dorgeroux has been in televisual contact with impossibly intelligent, three-eyed Venusians.
John Buchan
The story re-introduces the reader to an older Richard Hannay, married and the father of a young son, living on a country estate. Our hero is pulled out of retirement by his old comrade, Bullivant, asking him to help track down three missing persons, taken so that the villain can, as well as furthering his craze for crime and stopping his activities being investigated, obtain complete mental control over his acolytes. After much deliberation, Hannay accepts the case and so begins the search for the missing three. Much of the story is a series of chases, following various clues, during which Hannay is once again forced to work against the ordinary police to maintain his secrecy. The Three Hostages is a haunting novel, given added poignancy by the subsequent history of the twentieth century.
Edgar Wallace
If you like a villain to be a proper villain then Oberzhon is the genuine article. What a villain! What an adventure! There are crimes for which no punishment is adequate, offences that the written law cannot efface. When conventional justice fails The Three Just Men employ their great intellect and cunning. They use their own methods, carry out their own verdicts which the police were unable or unwilling to carry out. There can be no compromise. Each of the ten chapters in this book recounts a separate episode in the careers of two of the trio who call themselves the Three Just Men. The third member of the trio remains in the background. The mission that the Three Just Men have undertaken is to mete out punishment to evil-doers whom the law has failed to reach.
Alexandre Dumas
The Three Musketeers (French: Les Trois Mousquetaires) is a historical adventure novel written in 1844 by French author Alexandre Dumas. Set in 16251628 when France is under threat, it recounts the adventures of a young nobleman named dArtagnan after he leaves home to travel to Paris, to join the Musketeers of the Guard. Although dArtagnan is not able to join this elite corps immediately, he befriends the three most formidable musketeers of the age the mysterious Athos, bumbling Porthos and ambitious and romantic Aramis who lived under the French kings Louis XIII and Louis XIV, who reigned during the 17th and early 18th centuries and gets involved in affairs of the state and court. Together the friends must use all their guile and ingenuity to outwit the dastardly schemes of the powerful Cardinal Richelieu and the glamorous spy, Milady. With a plot that delivers stolen diamonds, masked balls, purloined letters, and, of course, great bouts of swordplay, The Three Musketeers is eternally entertaining!
Edgar Wallace
Ex police officer Socrates Smith and his brother Lexington, who is also an amateur sleuth, are invited to spend a weekend at Peter Mandles country home. Shortly after they arrive the brothers notice many precautions taken against intruders, a message flashed in Morse code, and someone skulking across the lawn. Come three oaks, it spells in Morse code. Early next morning the brothers take a stroll, and there, tied to an oak branch, is a body with a purple mark where the bullet struck. A nicely convoluted mystery with plenty of incident, murder, forced marriage, kidnapping and so on from the master of mystery Edgar Wallace.
Aidan de Brune
Another breathtaking novel by the master of mystery Aidan de Brune (Herbert Charles CULL). A dead man and three dead snails. What could it mean if not murder? The story is fast-paced with some surprising twists, well written and great to read. This genuine mystery story takes the reader from one exciting adventure to another with all the adroitness and ingenuity of de Brunes previous successful books. One is left gasping with suspense as the many clues are unraveled only to be followed by others still more stubborn. An entertaining tale of mystery and intrigue, this book constitutes a must-read for lovers of crime mystery.

Zane Grey
In this breathless tale of bravery and battle, of white mans courage and red mans daring, Zane Grey has written one of his finest novels. The great western writers story of the buffalo hunters, and the passing of the great herds of buffalo. The Thundering Herd is the story of the buffalo and of their near extinction when hide hunters swarmed the plains killing them by the tens of thousands, and at the same time helping to eliminate the Indians by killing their food supply. Grounded in the authors sense of western history, it shows in no uncertain terms how white men were debased by the wanton destruction of the herds.
