La selección modal es una de las mayores dificultades para los aprendices extranjeros de espanol, siendo el dominio teórico y practico del subjuntivo motivo de grandes problemas para quienes no tienen este modo en su lengua materna. Este es el caso del idioma polaco. De ahi la doble finalidad de este estudio: describir el funcionamiento de los modos verbales desde las perspectivas sintactica, semantica y pragmaticodiscursiva y ofrecer a los lectores una herramienta teórica que facilitaria el aprendizaje practico de los modos espanoles, sobre todo del subjuntivo. Una de las aportaciones mas importantes de este libro, desde el punto de vista de la teoria lingUistica general, es el analisis contrastivo de los modos verbales espanoles y polacos.
