Przedmiotem pracy jest zjawisko eksplicytacji w tłumaczeniu symultanicznym. Do niedawna uważano, że eksplicytacja, jako zjawisko często przybierające formę amplifikacji tekstowej, występuje niezwykle rzadko w przekładzie symultanicznym, gdzie ograniczenia czasowe nie pozwalają na tego typu operacje tekstowe. Niedawne badania dowodzą jednak, że eksplicytacja występuje w tłumaczeniu symultanicznym i choć uwarunkowana w dużej mierze ograniczeniami medium, nie jest bynajmniej zjawiskiem marginalnym. Autorka omawia eksplicytację w tłumaczeniu symultanicznym z trzech perspektyw: instrumentalnej, gdzie badany jest aspekt strategiczności i intencjonalności tego typu operacji powierzchniowych, orientacyjnej, gdzie eksplicytacja omawiana jest w kontekście kierunku tłumaczenia tekstu, oraz psycholingwistycznej, w której Autorka bada eksplicytację jako jeden z wykładników stylu kognitywnego tłumacza. Monografia jest adresowana zarówno do przekładoznawców, jak i do językoznawców zainteresowanych tekstowymi aspektami tłumaczenia konferencyjnego.

Równocześnie zaginął jeden z wykładowców nazwiskiem Heidegger. Sądząc po tym co znaleziono w ich pokojach, mały lord wyszedł całkowicie ubrany, natomiast nauczyciel tylko częściowo, zabrał też rower. Brak danych by coś ich łączyło, poza tym, że opuścili budynek tej samej nocy. Książę zapewnia, że w liście nie było niczego, co mogłoby sprowokować ucieczkę. Holmes ustala, że kierunki na wschód, zachód i południe od szkoły można wykluczyć, pozostaje wrzosowisko, za którym jest zamek księcia. Facets of prefabrication. Perspectives on modelling and detecting phraseological units

Corpus-based studies have brought fresh insights into the role of collocability and lexico-grammatical patterning as core aspects of language permeating its structure and use. Facets of Prefabrication builds upon these findings and provides further impetus in the direction of large-scale explorations of phraseology. lt introduces a dependency- based method of detecting potential phraseological units to increase the coverage of prefabricated structures in automatic combinatorial dictionaries which have so far been mainly restricted to binary collocations. Various sources of evidence are used to evaluate this approach and assess its relevance to phraseological theories, including word recall experiments and phraseological markers analyses. These investigations open new perspectives on the interplay of novelty vs. formulaicity in naturally-occurring language and increase our recognition of seemingly subtle, but nevertheless ubiquitous aspects of phraseological prefabrication.

Fanny's First Play is a play by George Bernard Shaw. It was first performed as an anonymous piece, the authorship of which was to be kept secret. However, critics soon recognised it as the work of Shaw. The mystery over the authorship helped to publicise it. It had the longest run of any of Shaw's plays. It features a play within a play. The framing play is a satire of theatre critics, whose characters were based upon Shaw's own detractors, in some cases being caricatures of real critics of the day. The main play is a pastiche of the drawing room comedies in vogue at the time.
