Nastrojowa, niepokojąca i poruszająca opowieść o rodzicielstwie w dobie kryzysu klimatycznego. Adam i Sara mieszkają na obrzeżach miasta, w miejscu nazywanym Stepem. To dziwna przestrzeń pomiędzy cywilizacją a dziką przyrodą. Ludzie porzucają tam stare sprzęty, części aut, wyrzucają odpady, które z czasem zarastają roślinnością. Adam jest ostrożniejszy, ale z czasem i on wchodzi w rolę opiekuna. Ich codzienność zaczyna przypominać życie rodzinne, tyle że dziecko, którym się zajmują, jest czymś całkowicie nieznanym. Flora rośnie, zmienia się - ale pozostaje zagadką. Nie wiadomo, czym naprawdę jest. Nową formą życia? Produktem skażonego środowiska? Symbolem świata, w którym zatarła się granica między naturą a technologią? W swoim debiucie prozatorskim czeski poeta i publicysta Jonas Zbořil zachował poetycką wrażliwość i dzięki obrazowemu językowi stworzył sugestywne opisy krajobrazu, w którym natura powoli odzyskuje przestrzeń utraconą na rzecz człowieka.
