Holmes i Watson słyszą od lorda, że Ministerstwo wiedziałoby, gdyby jakaś obca ambasada zdobyła ów dokument. Tymczasem mimo upływu kilku tygodni w tej sprawie panuje cisza. Wściekły z bólu, próbuje złapać statek, na którym znajduje się jego żona. Kiedy mu się to udaje, wpada w ręce kapitana Ledoux, który bierze go do niewoli. Tamango znajduje się w takiej samej sytuacji jak ci, których sprzedał A co było dalej, dowiemy się po przeczytaniu noweli do końca. Zachęcamy!
