Tematyka szczegółowa podjęta przez Autorkę obejmuje rytualne obelgi, które jako praktyka komunikacyjna dają się zaobserwować w swoistego rodzaju pojedynkach werbalnych prowadzonych przez hiszpańskich raperów. Przedmiotem pracy jest analiza obelg rytualnych, ich typologia w kontekście bitwy raperów, a także opis wartości wokół których skupia się obelga rytualna. Materiał stanowiący podstawę analizy jest oryginalny, składają się na niego transkrypcje bitew raperów, które odbyły się w latach 2007–2009 w Madrycie, Barcelonie i Bilbao. W niniejszej pracy Autorka traktuje Bitwę Rap jako jedną z praktyk w ramach subkultury hip-hop oraz zjawisko komunikacyjne. Idąc w ślad za M. Colín Rodea (2003) Autorka proponuje analizę obelgi, łącząc aspekty pragmatyczne w ramach Teorii Relewancji Sperbera i Wilson z semantycznymi odnoszącymi się do leksyki tzw. obraźliwej. Autorka ponadto wprowadza termin antygrzeczność wywodzący się z badań K. Zimmermanna (2002), który łączy rytualne użycie obelg wśród młodych Hiszpanów z zachowaniem antynormatywnym, stąd też nie kwalifikuje ich jako niegrzeczne, lecz antygrzeczne. Kategoria antygrzeczności charakteryzuje się tym, iż młodzi pretendują do bycia równoprawnymi członkami grupy, szanowanymi przez pozostałych, wraz z którymi współtworzą antynormatywny krąg poprzez partycypację w rytuale rzucania obelg.
