Bishop Gawlina\'s Position on Jews during the Second World War
Michał Kłakus
The publication analyzes the attitude of the Polish Army Field Bishop Józef Gawlina (1882-1963) toward the so-called Jewish question during World War II. His views are presented in the context of contemporary knowledge, social norms, and political realities. Although sometimes critical of Jews, he was not an ideological antisemite, as evidenced by his actions and correspondence documenting assistance given to Jews. These sources provide important material for research on his wartime stance.
Stanowi ona ważne źródło do badań nad postawą hierarchy.
