Marta Łabęcka
Specjalnie dla miłośników FLAWSów! Przyjaźń, która miała się skończyć po roku, a przerodziła się w relację silniejszą niż więzy krwi. Out O Luck. Biltmore Oswald Very Much at Sea
Thorne Smith
James Thorne Smith, Jr. was an American writer of humorous supernatural fantasy fiction under the byline Thorne Smith. He is best known today for the two Topper novels, comic fantasy fiction involving sex, much drinking and supernatural transformations. Smiths literary debut was Biltmore Oswald (1918), the comic fictional diary of a hapless naval recruit, drawing heavily on wartime experience with the Navy. Episodes had featured in Broadside. The book sold well enough to allow the appearance of a sequel, Out o Luck (1919). The book continues hapless sailor Oswalds exploits in diary form throughout 1918 and the armistice and up to his eventual demobilization. Many of the entries have little or nothing to do with navy life and some of the best could easily stand alone as short stories, the best of which has Oswald looking for a bath and ending up in a duel.

The motive in the case of murder this is the first thing that draws the attention of the police. No one except a madman commits murder for no reason. Passion, hatred, money as soon as the motive is established, it, as a rule, unmistakably points to someone. That is why Pender took the club with Sinclairs arm and walked with him part of the way to his house on Brook Street. A very normal phenomenon on the part of one of Sinclairs best friends. He was damn smart about that. No one knew, no one even had a ghost of suspicion of the deadly hatred he was experiencing. Everyone thought they were friends: even Sinclair himself thought so. Tomorrow it will be a little shock for him when he realizes the truth.
