W literaturze botanicznej Petasites kablikianus wymieniany jest zazwyczaj jako gatunek pospolity na obszarach górskich, wchodzący głównie w skład zbiorowisk roślinnych porastających aluwia potoków górskich. Dotychczas nie poświęcono mu większej uwagi, poza badaniami taksonomicznymi oraz fitosocjologicznymi. W niniejszej pracy skupiono się na roli, jaką odgrywa on w środowisku przyrodniczym jako gatunek pionierski. Na podstawie dostępnej literatury omówiono cechy przypisywane typowym gatunkom pionierskim, m. in.: światłolubność, dioecję, wczesne zakwitanie i proanthię, wytwarzanie znacznej liczby lekkich, anemochorycznych nasion, kiełkowanie nasion w tym samym sezonie, duże rozmiary, szybki klonalny wzrost wegetatywny, dużą zdolność do szybkiego rozprzestrzeniania się, plastyczność morfologiczną, dużą tolerancję wobec klimatu i gleby, decydowanie o przebiegu inicjalnych faz sukcesji i ustępowanie po osiągnięciu przez fitocenozę względnej stabilności. Udowodniono wstępną hipotezę o pionierskim charakterze Petasites kablikianus, a także określono genezę powstawania fitocenoz z udziałem omawianego gatunku zarówno w piętrze subalpejskim, jak i w reglu dolnym. Na tej podstawie zaproponowano wyróżnienie dwóch form wysokościowych zespołu Petasitetum kablikiani – subalpejskiej i dolnoreglowej. Ponadto na podstawie poznanych cech umożliwiających szybką kolonizację siedlisk inicjalnych wskazano na możliwość wykorzystania Petasites kablikianus w celu łagodzenia skutków powodzi na terenach górskich. Peter acquires a title, some nice clothes, and a new archenemy, a German spy, Bernadine. Light hearted with a bit of romance along with the action and fancy pants English dialogue. This novel is an Oppenheim classic from 1919 about a high society villain: characteristic of Oppenheims typical works, with the characters living in luxury, and a very flowing and exact story.
Jacob Abbott
What Jacob Abbott really appreciates is his ability to uncover and animate well-known characters. So, for example, he did with Peter the Great. Most of the story is dedicated to the achievements of the great leader. But at the same moment he can describe the cruelty that lives in Peter the Great. What was particularly interesting in this book was Peters conflict with his son Alexis; it was an emotionally powerful narrative.
