Był animatorem życia kulturalnego wsi; zakładał czytelnie dla ludu, prowadził wykłady i organizował przedstawienia. Tematyka ta pojawia się również w jego twórczości artystycznej, mianowicie w cyklu sonetów Mitologie greckie oraz opowieściach z czasów starożytnej Grecji (Ferenike i Pejsidoros, 1909).
