This monograph is the result of cooperation between twenty researchers from eleven Polish universities and is based on the assumption that both employees and HRM in organizations are increasingly subject to unprecedented contextualization. Ochrona zdrowia i życia to problematyka, która zyskała na aktualności bardziej niż kiedykolwiek. Ostatnie lata, w trakcie których jako społeczeństwo przeżywaliśmy nieznany nam dotychczas czas pandemii COVID-19, uświadomiły nam, jak istotne są prawa człowieka w zakresie ochrony zdrowia i życia i jak nieocenioną rolę w takim okresie odgrywa państwo, pod warunkiem, że wypełnia swe konstytucyjne zadania odpowiedzialnie i sprawnie. Odpowiedzialne i sprawnie działające państwo jest w stanie opanować strach i niepokój społeczeństwa i ochronić jednostkę przed skutkami pandemii, tworząc tym samym poczucie bezpieczeństwa. Z drugiej strony jednostka, ufając takiemu państwu, jest w stanie poddać się jego działaniom nawet za cenę ograniczenia jej praw i wolności. To zadanie stoi przed władzami państwa w każdym czasie, chociaż w stanach nadzwyczajnych nabiera szczególnego zaznaczenia.
