Większa skuteczność działań zorientowanych na znalezienie pracy prowadzi do ponownego zatrudnienia. Jednak miarą sukcesu w tym zakresie nie powinno być jedynie podpisanie umowy o pracę ale przede wszystkim dłuższe utrzymanie przyjętej posady. Dlatego też proces adaptacji nowych pracowników do miejsca zatrudnienia staje się niezwykle ważny. Adaptacja do nowego miejsca pracy może być szczególnie trudna dla osób podejmujących pracę po okresie bezrobocia. Brak pracy bowiem najczęściej powoduje negatywne zmiany w psychofizycznym i społecznym funkcjonowaniu człowieka. W podjętych badaniach uwaga koncentruje się w szczególności na zrozumieniu procesu radzenia sobie w trakcie procesu reintegracji zawodowej przez osoby powtórnie zatrudnione (posiadające status osoby bezrobotnej przed podjęciem obecnej pracy). Pojawia się tu pytanie, jaki rodzaj aktywności zaradczej będzie najbardziej skuteczny w procesie szukania ponownego zatrudnienia (reemployment) oraz adaptacji do nowego miejsca pracy. W przeprowadzonym badaniu użyta została autorska interwencja dotycząca wzmacniania proaktywnego radzenia sobie.
