Bud is a bit too trustful of strangers and before he knows it, he has injected himself into a situation that could prove to be disastrous. Bud then heads for the hills and meets up with another stranger. Then, one day, Bud finds a child who has been stolen by an Indian squaw and takes him in. How will the childs presence change the two hardened men? The surprise ending is a nice touch, by the author.

W dotychczasowych badaniach dotyczących dziennikarstwa sportowego brakuje systematyczności i prób ujęć całościowych. Nie zajmowano się dotąd genezą terminologii sportowej, prawie w ogóle nie prowadzi się badań diachronicznych języka sportu. Nie ma też publikacji podejmujących problematykę rozwoju gatunków charakterystycznych dla tej odmiany specjalistycznej. Nie interesowano się również kształtowaniem się publicystyki sportowej. Jedyne opracowania sięgające do początków polskiego dziennikarstwa sportowego skupione były na historii prasy. Prezentowana publikacja dotyczy burzliwych dziejów początków żurnalistyki sportowej w Polsce. Autor prezentuje środowisko dziennikarzy sportowych z początku wieku XX, ich uwikłanie w świat działaczy i instytucji zajmujących się kulturą fizyczną. Poddaje analizie unikalny materiał (355 tekstów) z pierwszych lat istnienia „Przeglądu Sportowego”, który wyznaczał nowe drogi rozwoju publicystyki sportowej i stał się wzorem do naśladowania dla innych tytułów. W tym dla oka oddaleniu tonowała się jaskrawa rozmaitość kobiecych strojów w kilka plam zamglonych pod czarnym wirem mężczyzn. Tylko na krześle najbliższym odsadą barw mocnych widniała jakaś bluzka o wodnej zieleni, twarz otwarta, jasna i włos ciemny, rozjaśniany w ciepłe połyski, zda się, kontrastem do tej hebanowej czerni fortepianu, sponad której padały oczy jego. Stał jak wyczekujący rybak tej czarnej łodzi, przerzucając białe karty nut rozłożonych na hebanie. A dziewczyna przyglądała mu się przez zmrużone rzęsy pozornie nigdzie nie patrzących oczu. (Fragment)
