Silesia incognita - Śląsk nieznany - te słowa w tytule obecnej książki zapowiadają odsłonę zjawiska dotąd niemal niedostrzeżonego. Chodzi o zespół ewangelickich kościołów powstałych w czasach trudnych: po drugiej wojnie i w następnych dziesięcioleciach, w czasach przełomu 1989 roku i aż do początków XXI wieku. Wtopione w malowniczy wiejski krajobraz, na uboczu wielkich wydarzeń artystycznych swego czasu, kościoły te odzwierciedlają losy niewielkich społeczności konfesyjnych na ziemi, kędy przeszedł przysłowiowy walec dziejowy, co "wyrównywał". Tu, mimo wielu przeciwności, było pragnienie przetrwania żywione pamięcią leśnych kościołów sprzed wieków - symbolu przezwyciężania trudów. Jak to się stało, że w czasach, kiedy ewangelickie kościoły masowo przepadały, tutaj zaczęto wznosić nowe? Wiemy, że wszelkie budowle - sakralne, jak i świeckie - zawierają czytelne świadectwa i przesłania swoich twórców i inspiratorów. Te świadectwa rozpoznajemy na wiele sposobów: odnajdujemy ich wymiar historyczno-kulturowy, estetyczny i stylowy, śledzimy artystyczne powiązania, określamy treści ideowe, na koniec definiujemy ich wartość jako nasze wspólne dziedzictwo. Tak dzieje się i tym razem. Omawiane tu budowle kościelne, pozostając częścią obrazu nowoczesnej sztuki architektonicznej, wpisują się zarazem w ciąg wielowiekowej tradycji śląskiej architektury protestanckiej jako jej kolejny, najnowszy rozdział. Owa tradycja sięga odległych czasów: pamięta świetność baroku - kościoły Pokoju XVII wieku i te późniejsze, zwane kościołami Łaski, liczne dzieła subtelnego osiemnastowiecznego klasycyzmu, monumentalne założenia historyzmu XIX wieku, wreszcie obiekty wczesnego modernizmu początku XX stulecia. Kościoły te, mimo iż przemawiają wieloma językami form adekwatnych do swojego czasu, przekazują niezmienione przesłanie ideowe protestanckich treści konfesyjnych. Podobnie stało się i tym razem. I niech nie niepokoi nas to, że obecnym budowlom daleko do wielkości i reprezentacyjności ich historycznych poprzedników. W swej kameralnej formie one także dają świadectwo - tu i teraz.

Start koło ogromnego i pięknego stadionu lekkoatletycznego w Chorzowie zwanym też "kotłem czarownic" natomiast meta w jego środku. Trasa wymagająca, ale ciekawie poprowadzona. 13 edycja Silesia Marathon miała uczcić Powstania Śląskie i zrobiła to z wielkim powodzeniem. Zapraszam na relację z biegu wraz z opisem trasy. Dołączam też rady za dietetykiem sportowym panem Mateuszem oraz kilka zdjęć z wydarzenia.
