Wszystkie dzieła Moich Rąk są ukoronowane Miłosierdziem (Dzienniczek, p. 299-301). Minęło zaledwie kilkadziesiąt lat od tej rozmowy Faustyny z Jezusem, a potoczne rozumienie Miłosierdzia uległo w Kościele Katolickim biegunowej zmianie. Miłosierdzie zostało odczytane jako powszechna abolicja gładząca hurtem nawet najcięższe grzechy, a w sprawiedliwość Bożą wierzą już tylko nieliczni. Jeśli piekło jest puste (Przecież Bóg nie byłby taki okrutny), to niebo też jest do niczego. Jeśli wszystkie winy mają być bezwarunkowo darowane, to stawia to w wątpliwość sens Ofiary Jezusa na Krzyżu, jako ofiary za nasze grzechy. Po co Zbawiciel schodził na Ziemię, nauczał, ustanawiał Eucharystię, dał się przybić do Krzyża, skoro po wstąpieniu do Nieba i tak machnął na wszystko ręką? Miłosierdzie to współdziałanie grzesznika z Bogiem, otwarcie na Bożą łaskę, w celu złagodzenia Bożej sprawiedliwości. Pseudo-miłosierdzie zwane ostatnio mizerykordyzmem to dyskretne i konsekwentne, ale za to całkowite wygumkowanie Bożej sprawiedliwości z historii zbawienia. Czy na pewno o tym Jezus mówił Faustynie? "Jak znaleźć właściwy język dla opisu kryzysu, w którym znalazł się obecnie Kościół katolicki? Czy da się zachować krytycyzm wobec niebezpiecznych zmian w nauczaniu kościelnym i jednocześnie zachować nadzieję na przyszłość? Taką drogę wybrał ksiądz profesor Paweł Bortkiewicz w jego książce na temat fałszywego miłosierdzia, które to rozpanoszyło się w Kościele.
