Proces wytypowanego Wampira z Zagłebia był procesem poszlakowym, po latach na jaw wyszły zadziwiajace fakty preparowania dowodów. Mimo iż fachowo bijący milicjanci znani byli z imienia I nazwiska, w śmierć syna znanej opozycjonistki usiłowano wrobić pracowników pogotowia, którzy przewozili zmasakrowanego.
