Właściwie przybliżająca fakty, frapująca w interpretacjach i świetna w czytaniu, co zapewne doceniłby David Carrier, sugerujący, że historia sztuki zmienia się w literaturę, przynajmniej od czasów Panofskiego. Tak bowiem powinno być, aby naukowa kompetencja zmieniała się w intrygującą literaturę, a poznanie oznaczało, nie tylko przyswajanie wiedzy, ale i doświadczanie piękna.
