Sartwell forbids him to speak to her. The strike is crushed, Marsten is dismissed, and becomes secretary to the Labor Union. He sees Edna several times, she becomes interested in him, and her father sends her away to school... A great read, The Mutable Many is thoroughly recommended for inclusion on the bookshelf of any home and for lovers of historical novels.

The main character tells about his stay on the ship Elsinore, in which from the very beginning there are not the most rainbow events. With each chapter of the event more and more go beyond the framework of the rational and the main character is aware of this. Traveling by ship is a long coexistence of many people in a limited space, where they have nowhere to go from each other, and they are forced to constantly contact. Latent antipathy there develops into a demonstrative hostility, and discontent and bitterness into fierce hatred. Every year his paranoia reaches its climax. After some time there is a shipwreck in the bay and among the survivors are three Buddhist priests who had boarded the ship from Kurrachee. When John Fothergill West tells the general (to whose daughter Gabriel he is engaged) about the priests, he resigns himself to his fate and refuses any help from West.

Though The Mystery of Edwin Drood is one of its authors darkest books, it also bustles with a vast roster of memorable-and delightfully named-minor characters: Mrs. Billikins, the landlady; the foolish Mr. Sapsea; the philanthropist, Mr. Honeythunder; and the mysterious Datchery. Several attempts have been made over the years to complete the novel and solve the mystery, but even in its unfinished state it is a gripping and haunting masterpiece.

In this fascinating story, Ramsden travels a lot and encounters his old friend, the beautiful Joan Angela Leich. Soon they go to the desert, try to unravel the mystery of the place of the tomb of Khufu and help the old Chinese mathematician, which is blocked by the usual shoemaker from the villains, trying to steal the treasure for himself. Much more modern and anti-imperial in the world than his predecessors Mandy wrote to a soul an interesting novel with a lot of adventures and acute sensations.
