Są to dwie uzupełniające się kategorie. W książce przyjęto założenie, iż podstawą do interpretacji skuteczności i efektywności są wyniki przedsiębiorstwa (efekty jego działań). Zaprezentowano w niej wyniki badań przedsiębiorstw, których celem było określenie miejsca różnych efektów marketingowych i finansowych w ocenie przedsiębiorstwa.

Monografia przedstawia interdyscyplinarne ujęcie rozwoju start-upów medycznych, ukazując ich funkcjonowanie na styku innowacji technologicznych, regulacji i finansowania. Autorzy analizują, w jaki sposób wymogi regulacyjne, w szczególności proces certyfikacji wyrobów medycznych, oraz specyfika branży generują zjawisko podwójnej "doliny śmierci", utrudniające przejście od prototypu do skalowania działalności i pozyskiwania kapitału. Publikacja opiera się na unikatowym materiale empirycznym, pogłębionych wywiadach z założycielami start-upów medycznych oraz badaniach ankietowych, które umożliwiają identyfikację wzorców funkcjonowania oraz finansowych i organizacyjnych barier rozwoju. W monografii zaproponowano projekcję rozwoju zarządzania strategicznego w ostatnich 60 latach. Podstawą prezentowanej sekwencji podejść do strategii były analiza osiągnięć naukowo-badawczych powstałych w opisywanym okresie, szczególnie tych mających miejsce w Stanach Zjednoczonych, a także kilkunastoletnie doświadczenia autora związane ze studiowaniem teorii, z obserwowaniem i analizowaniem praktyki strategii. Analizowany w monografii historyczny okres rozwoju zarządzania strategicznego pozwolił autorowi na wyodrębnienie pięciu głównych podejść do formułowania strategii. Wyróżniono je przede wszystkim ze względu na rodzaj dominującej w nich renty ekonomicznej. Autora interesowały więc ujęcia strategii i historyczne (klasyczne), i aktualnie obowiązujące. Dodatkowe pytanie stawiane w pracy dotyczy również związków między naukami o zarządzaniu a ekonomią.

The monograph Supplementary Financial Security for the Silver Generation is an interdisciplinary publication focused on the financial well-being of this rapidly growing demographic, often referred to as the "silver generation". The authors explore the challenges posed by individuals during retirement due to decreasing income and rising healthcare expenses. The multidimensionality of the concepts of sustainable development is shown in this monograph through the prism of literature reviews and empirical studies, as well as experiences of 30 authors representing 13 universities and science institutes. The monograph confirms the long-standing academic cooperation between the research community of Wroclaw University of Economics and Business and other academic centres in Poland with scholars from Czechia and Slovakia. It is also worth noting that the list of the contributors has been further extended to authors from Hungary and Pakistan who are part of international research teams working in Poland and Czechia. The main structure of the monograph is composed of four parts. Part 1 concentrates on tasks which institutions of higher education have to realise in the context of expanding the scope of implementing the principles of sustainable development. The considerations in Part 2 are directed at the regional dimension of sustainable development, with particular attention to its economic aspects demonstrated in the context of regions. The authors of the chapters in Part 3 indicate the importance of technological advancements and the possibility of their use to support sustainable development, whilst Part 4 presents the issues linked with sustainable development from the perspective of consumer behaviour and business activity of enterprises.

There are two complementary categories. In the book it is assumed that the performance of an enterprise (the effects of its activities) is the basis for the interpretation of effectiveness and efficiency. The author presents business survey results which aim was to determine the place of different marketing and financial effects in the company assessment.

Publikacja stanowi wkład w dyskurs naukowy dotyczący zagadnień związanych z tematem wyrównania finansowego w państwie federalnym. System ten opisano od poziomu federalnego, a także od strony poszczególnych krajów związkowych.
