Książka Andrzeja Porzuczka poświęcona jest analizie relacji czasowych pomiędzy elementami frazy intonacyjnej w wymowie angielskiej zaawansowanego ucznia polskiego. Celem autora było wykazanie i opisanie różnic w tym zakresie między polskim uczniem a rodzimym użytkownikiem języka angielskiego oraz ich interpretacja w kontekście glottodydaktycznym. Część teoretyczna pracy (rozdziały 1—3) omawia historię i stan badań nad prozodią języka mówionego oraz metodologię akustycznych badań mowy. Część praktyczna natomiast (rozdziały 4—7) przedstawia oparte na dyskusji z części teoretycznej założenia metodologiczne, hipotezy badawcze oraz materiał językowy wybrany do analizy, po czym autor w sposób wyczerpujący prezentuje i omawia wyniki swoich badań. Autor zaobserwował m.in.: wyraźnie dłuższy czas trwania elementów nieakcentowanych w wymowie Polaków oraz większą u rodzimych użytkowników języka angielskiego tendencję do wyrównywania czasu trwanie stopy rytmicznej. Badania nie wykazały z kolei wyraźnych różnic w bezwzględnej długości samogłosek i sylab akcentowanych (z wyjątkiem sylab akcentowanych na końcu frazy, gdzie są one znacznie dłuższe w wymowie rodowitych Anglików). Przedstawione w pracy Andrzeja Porzuczka rezultaty badań oraz wykorzystanie zastosowanych w nich metod mogą posłużyć do identyfikacji konkretnych problemów w przyswajaniu obcej wymowy, jak również wprowadzić element obiektywizmu do zazwyczaj impresjonistycznej oceny warstwy prozodycznej wymowy języka obcego.

Opracowanie zawiera obszerny przegląd literatury związanej z omawianą tematyką, bogato udokumentowaną geobotaniczną charakterystykę płatów omawianego zbiorowiska na terenie Wyżyny Krakowsko-Częstochowskiej oraz analizę procesów regeneracji drzewostanu jodłowego. Szczególnie cennym elementem pracy są wskazania ochronne zredagowane dla fitocenoz jedlin reprezentujących różne stopnie zachowania i degeneracji. Publikacja jest adresowana do fitosocjologów, leśników, ekologów, fitogeografów i siedliskoznawców. Profesora Zygmunta Czubińskiego – jest wyróżnieniem honorowym, przyznawanym za wybitne prace naukowe mające charakter regionalnych monografii geobotanicznych, których podstawą jest oryginalna koncepcja naukowa. Kapituła, która składa się z 7 osób nadaje Medal raz na 3 lata. Wraz z medalem wręczany jest dyplom. The V4 and Ukraine Fight with Tax Frauds and Money Laundering

The monograph presents a comprehensive exploration of the mechanisms, challenges, and strategies employed by the Visegrad Group countries and Ukraine to combat tax fraud and money laundering. The book is divided into nine chapters, each dedicated to a specific aspect of the overarching issue, such as blockchain technology as a tool to combat money laundering within the V4 countries and Ukraine, tax aggressiveness in corporate taxation, Financial Action Task Force compliance, tax security, VAT carousel frauds and taxation of Ukrainian refugees. Together, they offer insights into the legal, technological, and economic frameworks that shape the fight against financial crime in this region, emphasizing the importance of regional collaboration and innovation.
The V4 Towards Migration Challenges in Europe. An Analysis and Recommendations

The culmination of the large-scale influx of migrants in the European area in 2015 and 2016 has not only led to severe pressure on the affected countries - transit countries as well as countries of destination - but also to the questioning of fundamental achievements of the European Union such as the freedom of movement. The migrant crisis also shed light on pressing issues still in need of satisfying responses reflecting reality, such as the case of the revision of the 1951 Geneva Convention on the status of refugees and the Dublin Ili Regulation setting forth that an asylum application needs to be filed in the first country of entry. Not only did the crisis reveal already existing ruptures between Western and Eastern Europe, but it also showed that the European Union as such is incapable of taking firm and swift decisions regarding the protection of its own borders and citizens against an unprecedented influx of irregular migrants - many of them without official documents. Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia are all sceptical towards the idea of positivist humanitarian approach towards migrations and introducing limits on accepting refugees for each EU state. Such reluctance derives from many different aspects, from political and geopolitical to social and cultural. Does V4 region is in fact threatened by migration crisis? lt is evident, that Hungary being the transit state can face significant threats. However, none of those states have the status of settlement countries or long-standing destinations.

The Victorian Royal Nursery attempts to shed more light on the nursery for the children of Queen Victoria. It examines the creation, organisation, and financing of the nursery, with a consideration of the most important individuals who looked after the Royal children, namely the medical staff, wet nurses, monthly nurses, permanent nurses, governesses and subgovernesses. The study is based mostly on the numerous unpublished documents from the Royal Archives at Windsor as well as the hitherto little-known or unknown sources like the journal of the royal accoucheur Dr Robert Ferguson or the diary of head-nurse Mrs Ann Thurston. The Woman Artist: Essays in memory of Dorota Filipczak

The volume, honoring Professor Dorota Filipczak, whose energetic and fruitful academic career was cut short in 2021, offers a contribution to literary criticism and culture studies, the areas on which her own scholarly endeavors centered. The theme of "the woman artist" was of particular significance both for Filipczak's inquiry into the work of writers such as Alice Munro, Jane Urquhart, Michele Roberts or Margaret Laurence, and for her own poetic practice. Rather than focus on her achievements in various fields (as scholar, writer, teacher, poet, and translator), the texts collected in this volume go beyond remembrance and the honoring of an established scholar's remarkable feats. Despite their undeniable commemorative role, the chapters are an attempt to carry Dorota Filipczak's academic endeavors forward, into the future, with her own texts serving as prologue and inspiration. The contributors to the volume - representing various fields of the academia - are her friends, colleagues and collaborators, and the essays eloquently testify to her intellectual influence. From more personal reflections and ruminations inspired by Filipczak's life and work to articles exploring the work of a range of women artists, the volume offers an investigation of various approaches to autobiography, tensions between public personas and private selves, subversive performative personas, transcending religious frameworks of bodily discipline, as well as "toggling" between the human and the nonhuman.
