Highly recommended for lovers of Western fiction.
H. Rider Haggard

This is one of Robert E, Howards fast-paced short stories, featuring lots of fights and sliced entrails. Not one of his best works, in my opinion, as it somehow lacks substance. It seemed all hell and no notion.

Trail is one of Zane Greys most detailed and panoramic Western novels; indeed, it is first-rate historical fiction in addition to being one of his most gripping romance-adventures.
B.M. Bower
Beloved Western author B. M. Bower is back with another classic yarn of the Old West. Much like her best-known works, The Uphill Climb showcases the inner lives of the cowhands and ranchers who made the region livable and whose rough-and-tumble lifestyles all too often exacted a harsh toll. Also this story deals with one mans fight to overcome alcohol addiction. Still very relevant to today. But it also has romance and a good bit of humor from supporting characters. Bower knows the West of the cowboys, as do few writers... the writing is realistic, and strongly suffused with local color. One of many recommended Westerns by this prolific author.

This book describes historical events in America in the early twentieth century on the example of one family. The Great Depression has not yet begun, but tension is felt in the cities, clashes are taking place between the striking workers and strike breakers, which are supported by the police.
