Felix Dahn
Felix Dahn (1834-1912) war ein deutscher Professor für Rechtswissenschaften, Schriftsteller und Historiker. Zwischen 1882 und 1901 ließ Dahn in 13 Bänden Kleine Romane aus der Völkerwanderung, zwischen 1890 und 1895 ebenfalls in mehreren Bänden eine etwa dreitausendseitige Autobiografie folgen. Sind Götter? Die Halfred Sigskaldsaga eine nordische Erzählung aus dem zehnten Jahrhundert, 1874.

Singoalla är en roman av Viktor Rydberg och handlar om kärleken mellan riddaren Erland Mnesköld och den mystiska Singoalla. Singoalla utspelas under 1340- och 1350-talen och handlar om en riddares son, Erland, som blir förälskad i dottern, Singoalla, till ett kringvandrande folk, romer, som rastar ngra dagar nära slottet. Deras första möte är vid bäcken som rinner genom den skog som tillhör Erlands fars slott. Detta blir ett kort möte d Singoallas folk ska ge sig av igen samma kväll. Erland kan inte glömma Singoalla och när hennes folk ett r senare tervänder och ber Erlands far om att f sl upp sitt läger i hans skog d de ska stanna en vecka och vänta in en annan grupp s ser Erland sin chans att f träffa henne igen.

W Siódemce poddaje wiwisekcji Polskę najpolstszą, samo jej serce, gdzie biją źródła wszystkich jej bolączek i frustracji, matecznik polskiego marazmu, bylejakości i magmy, rdzeń pełen szyldozy i płotów odlanych z betonu, gdzie winy za chaos i syf nie można zrzucić na nikogo prócz nas samych. Opisuje Polskę leżącą przy drodze krajowej numer 7. Jak opisać tę niezwykłą krainę? Pytanie trudne. Niewielu dotychczas próbowało. Siódemka tylko pozornie kpi z prowincji, prowincji leżącej w centrum naszego kraju. To dużo więcej niż żarty napędzane poszerzającymi świadomość wiedźmińskimi eliksirami (tak, tak nie mogło zabraknąć także wiedźmina). To brutalna, szczera do bólu próba opisu tego, co swojskie, a zarazem bardzo tajemnicze i dotąd niezbadane. Siódemka stanowi podróż przez polskie jądro ciemności, przez kompleksy i fantazje narodowe, przez wieki historii wędrówkę pełną groteski i przegięcia, napędzaną alkoholem i narkotykami (to wciąż #gonzo!), ale to przecież jedyny sposób na opisanie bezforemnej polskiej formy.

John Buchan
In the mid-sixteenth century, Jean de Rohaine, a middle-aged French nobleman, journeys to Scotland in search of adventure and a new beginning. Having witnessed Royalist troops butchering suspected Covenanters, he follows the example of godly refugees and escapes to the safety of the hills around Eskdalemuir and the head of Ettrick Water. Whilst staying at the Manse of Lindean, he falls in love but honour forbids he should win a woman he has pledged to protect for another. It is a unique novel of a haunting Scottish lifestyle that differs from Buchans later works, such as The Thirty-Nine Steps. The love story here is also central in a way that it is not to later works by Buchan, so that aspect of the narrative will prove interesting to readers who might be curious about how Buchan examines gender and sexuality in his fiction.
