Gra pan jak Bodo! Dlaczego? Bo do du.... To tylko żartobliwy kalambur Adolfa Dymszy, prawda bowiem była zupełnie inna. Eugeniusz Bodo grał jak z nut, chociaż ich nie znał. Dwa etapy jego życia upłynęły mu śpiewająco. Otaczała go wtedy miłość rodzinnego domu, sława zdobyta w warszawskich kabaretach, wreszcie uwielbienie kinowej widowni za ekranową wszechstronność. I kto wie, jak potoczyłyby się jego artystyczne losy, gdyby nie wojna. Tragiczna, niesprawiedliwa i okrutna. O tym właśnie opowiada ta książka. Od wydawcy: Sądziłam, że będzie to jeszcze jedna biografia w dorobku Ryszarda Wolańskiego. Nie miałam wątpliwości, że będzie świetna i bardzo rzetelna, bo autor słynie z dokładności, skrupulatności i umiłowania archiwaliów. Jednak to jest coś więcej niż doskonała biografia Eugeniusza Bodo, to książka, która ujawnia fakty zupełnie nieznane. Rozdział o wojennych losach Bodo jest wstrząsający. Protokoły z przesłuchań aktora przez NKWD obnażają całą podłość sowieckiego systemu. Nie chce się wierzyć, że to mogło się zdarzyć. Moja babcia była zafascynowana międzywojenną Warszawą, nazywała ją Paryżem północy. Czytając książkę Wolańskiego, wierzy się, że tak rzeczywiście było. Udało mu się uchwycić atmosferę i czar tamtego miasta, którego Bodo był królem. Już nic więcej Państwu nie powiem. Trzeba to koniecznie przeczytać. Maria Szabłowska
Aleksander Puszkin
Poemat dygresyjny autorstwa Aleksandra Puszkina, wydany w całości w 1833 roku. Odznacza się kunsztowną formą i licznymi, charakterystycznymi dla gatunku dygresjami, ujawniającymi ironię romantyczną. Opowiada o człowieku rozczarowanym światem, znudzonym i zniechęconym, który szuka pociechy w ucieczce na wieś. Nie znajduje jej jednak i rusza w dalszą podróż po miejscach z przeszłości.

Takie imię zobowiązuje, ale kotka świetnie sobie radzi z poskromieniem reszty świata.

Eutyfron. Tytułowy bohater postanawia oskarżyć swojego ojca o zabicie niewolnika. W drodze do urzędu spotyka Sokratesa, który został oskarżony o bezbożność i psucie młodzieży. Nawiązuje się między nimi rozmowa, w której Eutyfron próbuje zdefiniować, czym tak właściwie jest bezbożność.

Edgar Wallace was one of the most popular and prolific authors of his era. This novel is framed as several witness accounts to a fictious journalist and starts as an entertaining adventure yarn with even some pirate episodes, but the story looses steam at the half-way point when it turns into a very predictable society novel. Wallace follows his passions for horse-racing and adventure, and the title character in all his generosity and extravagance is clearly autobiographical. The story of a man who founds his own colony on an uninhibited island, returns to England to find true love and manages to keep the island out of the hands of various foreign powers.

While the reader is prevented from divining the solution too easily, a proper number of clues are conscientiously given and the events, nicely dovetailed together. Face Cards, written by an American author and poet Carolyn Wells, is a locked-room mystery in which crime and a family curse are interwoven, with plenty of creepy supernatural events thrown in, relating to exotic masks.

We get acquainted with the love triangle between the heiress of Ellen, the immature student Edward and the painful scientist Fanshaw, and everything starts to go south after the villain enters. The pacing of this novel goes beyond the strange and not in a good way. After the first half of the novel, all expectations disappeared, even the idea that the search for the abducted girl had just begun.
