Pigeons from Hell is a short story by Robert E. Howard written in late 1934 and published posthumously by Weird Tales in 1938. The story title derives from an image present in many of Howards grandmothers ghost stories, that of an old deserted plantation mansion haunted by ghostly pigeons.

Zawdzięczają to pracy na roli i handlowi z budowniczymi odcinka kolei. Wkrótce we wsi pojawiają się koloniści niemieccy. Wykupują folwark od dziedzica, chcą również kupić ziemię Ślimaka. Napotykają opór starego gospodarza. Dochodzi do otwartej wojny. Osaczony przez Niemców Ślimak zostaje pozbawiony dodatkowych zarobków. Koloniści nie chcą wydzierżawić mu łąki, musi więc sprzedać ostatnią krowę. Młodszy syn Ślimaka, Stasio, tonie w rzece. Starszy, Jędrek, po bójce z Niemcami idzie do aresztu. Żona Jagna ciężko choruje, a pożar niszczy dom. Załamany tymi nieszczęściami Ślimak decyduje się sprzedać ziemię Niemcom. Nocą po pożarze konająca Jagna wymusza na mężu przysięgę, że nigdy nie odda ojcowizny owej placówki Niemcom.
Rudyard Kipling
A wonderful book written in beautiful language, with love for the native land and its history. Despite the fact that all sorts of wars, illnesses and deprivations often flash in the stories, in general the atmosphere is very pleasant, and the book gives a feeling of warmth and tranquility. English guys Dan and Una, brother and sister, meet Elf Pak. He tells them once brought to England, the god Wiland, who once forged a magic sword. Further stories are told already by the direct participants in the events: the knight, the centurion, and so on.
Planetoid 127 and The Sweizer Pump

Edgar Wallace enjoyed writing science fiction. Planetoid 127, first published in 1929 but reprinted as late 1962, is a short story about an Earth scientist who communicates via wireless with his counterpart on a duplicate Earth orbiting unseen because it is on the opposite side of the Sun. The idea of a mirror Earth or mirror Universe later became a standard subgenre within science fiction. The story also bears similarities to Rudyard Kiplings hard science fiction story Wireless. As we see the first of the two stories, Planetoid 127, is science fiction whilst the second, The Sweizer Pump, is a crime story. Fast-paced, with good twists and turns, an unusual criminal scheme.
