Jego sytuacja jeszcze bardziej się komplikuje, gdy do Londynu przybywa dawna jego ukochana Ada. Wampir to powieść niepokojąca, pełna zjawisk paranormalnych. Znakomicie oddaje ducha tej pełnej spirytyzmu epoki. Jest również świadectwem głębokiego zainteresowaniu pisarza okultyzmem.
