A level 1 Oxford Bookworms Library graded reader. This version includes an audio book: listen to the story as you read. Written for Learners of English by Jennifer Bassett. When Lord Asano drew his sword on Lord Kira one spring day in 1701, it began a story that is now a national legend in Japan. Lord Kira lived, but Lord Asano died, and after his death, his samurai became ronin, samurai without a master. And so began their long plan for revenge on Lord Kira. Their loyalty to their dead master made them famous, and people in Japan remember them to this day. The story of the forty-seven ronin has been told and retold for 300 years - in plays, novels, and films. A major Hollywood film was made about the forty-seven ronin in 2013.

A level 1 Oxford Bookworms Library graded reader. This version includes an audio book: listen to the story as you read. Written for Learners of English by Michael Dean. Do you believe in ghosts? Jerry doesn't. He's a nineteen-year-old American, who just wants a good holiday with his friend, Brad. They are travelling round the north of England by bicycle. But strange things begin to happen in the small hotel where they are staying. First, Brad seems to think that he has been there before. And then a girl called Ellen appears . . . The first of these three original plays is set in the seventeenth century, and the other two take place in modern times. In each play, a ghost comes back from the dead to change the lives of living people.
A Midsummer Night's Dream Level 3 Oxford Bookworms Library
A level 3 Oxford Bookworms Library graded reader. Written for Learners of English by William Shakespeare. There are broken hearts and kisses and then weddings, so this is a story about love. There are actors who are funny because they cannot act, so it is also a story that makes people laugh. And there are fairies, spirits of the night, so it is a story about mischief and magic too. What happens when love and laughter come together with magic in an Athenian forest? A Midsummer Night's Dream was written in about 1596 and is one of Shakespeare's most popular plays. It has been retold for Bookworms, not as a play, but as a story.

What does the name 'Agatha Christie' mean? To many people, it means a book about a murder mystery - a 'whodunnit'. 'I'm reading an Agatha Christie,' people say. 'I'm not sure who the murderer is - I think it's . . .' But they are usually wrong, because it is not easy to guess the murderer's name before the end of the book. But who was Agatha Christie? What was she like? Was her life quiet and unexciting, or was it full of interest and adventure? Was there a mystery in her life, too?

Stanisława, młoda kobieta z Mystkówca Starego w samym sercu Puszczy Białej, zbiera zioła i marzy o tym, by zostać pielęgniarką. Kiedy nagle umiera ukochany mąż Edmund, a na świat przychodzi córeczka Marianna, młoda kobieta musi stawić czoła nowym wyzwaniom i zapomnieć o marzeniach.

„Alosza garnkotłuk” to krótkie opowiadanie Lwa Tołstoja, jednego z najwybitniejszych przedstawicieli realizmu w literaturze europejskiej.
„Athenię” tropi bowiem uzbrojony w torpedy niemiecki U-Boot…

W Bez dogmatu zobaczymy zupełnie innego Sienkiewicza niż ten, którego poznaliśmy dzięki jego powieściom historycznym, zapewniającym mu po dziś dzień sławę. Tym razem pisarz stworzył utwór o czasach mu współczesnych, podejmujący problem człowieka końca XIX wieku, pozbawionego trwałych zasad moralnych i celu w życiu, do którego mógłby dążyć.
Charles Dickens, Wilkie Collins
Powieść młodej autorki, Kateřiny Tučkovej, została obsypana nagrodami (m.in. Nagroda Josefa Škvoreckiego, Nagroda Czytelników – Magnesia Litera, Nagroda Czytelników – Česká Kniha) oraz otrzymała tytuł Czeski Bestseller jako najlepiej sprzedająca się książka w 2012 roku.
