John Barleycorn to autobiograficzna powieść Jacka Londona, opowiadająca o radości z picia i zmaganiach z alkoholizmem. Została wydana w 1913 roku. Tytuł pochodzi z brytyjskiej piosenki ludowej John Barleycorn. Tematem powieści jest męska przyjaźń. London omawia różne doświadczenia życiowe z alkoholem na różnych etapach swojego życia. Kluczowe etapy to późne lata nastoletnie, kiedy zarabiał jako marynarz, a także później, gdy był zamożnym, odnoszącym sukcesy pisarzem. W książce po raz pierwszy użyto określenia "widzieć różowe słonie" na człowieka w stanie głębokiego upojenia alkoholowego.
