Jrn Lier Horst (ur. 27.02.1970) to norweski pisarz i dramaturg; do września 2013 pracował jako szef wydziału śledczego Okręgu Policji Vestfold, obecnie jest pełnoetatowym pisarzem. Studiował kryminologię, filozofię i psychologię. Jest autorem przedstawień dla Teater Ibsen; od dwóch lat ukazują się również jego powieści kryminalne w tzw. serii CLUE, przeznaczone dla młodszych czytelników. Horst zadebiutował w 2004 powieścią Nkkelvitnet (Świadek koronny). Stworzył cykl powieści kryminalnych, w których głównym bohaterem jest William Wisting, policjant pracujący w Larviku. Powieść PSY GOŃCZE to najbardziej  utytułowana i nagrodzona książka Horsta z serii o Williamie Wistingu.
