Nosiła panieńskie nazwisko Kowalska; pochodziła prawdopodobnie z Wielkopolski. Poślubiła Kazimierza Drużbackiego, skarbnika żydaczowskiego (przed 1721 r.). Całą swą edukację, obejmującą znajomość mitologii, jęz. francuskiego i pewną kulturę literacką, zdobyła, przebywając wiele na dworach magnackich: Sieniawskich, Czartoryskich, Sanguszków i Branickich. Po wczesnej śmierci męża gospodarowała nadal w dzierżawionych od Sieniawskich majątkach w Cieplicach i Rzemieniu. Ok. 1756 r. osiadła w klasztorze bernardynek w Tarnowie, kontynuując pracę pisarską (np. tworząc romansowe poematy epickie Fabuła o książęciu Adolfie czy Historia chrześcijańska księżny Elefantyny z 1769). Autorka wierszy lirycznych, satyrycznych i sielankowych, łącząca tematykę religijną z wrażliwością na przyrodę, chętnie operująca żartem obyczajowym. Dorobek Drużbackiej został wydany już w 1752 przez J. A. Załuskiego p.t. Zbiór rytmów duchownych, panegirycznych, moralnych i światowych; w tomie zwraca uwagę m.in. Opisanie czterech części roku. Pisarze oświecenia (Krasicki, Kołłątaj) cenili ją za bogactwo i czystość języka oraz płynność wiersza; budziła też zainteresowanie jako jedna z pierwszych autorek w literaturze polskiej. Rozproszone wiersze publikowane w czasopismach w XVIII i XIX w. zebrał A. Lange w tomie I. Skarbca poezji polskiej (1903). Awesta (Avesta), natchniona księga zaratusztrianizmu, została zredagowana w bardzo starożytnym języku zwanym awestyjskim, a zawiera przekazy przez niektórych datowane na niezwykle zamierzchłą przeszłość, bo aż na II tysiąclecie przed naszą erą. Tekst Awesty prawdopodobnie został ostatecznie zredagowany w VI wieku p.n.e., ale gdy Aleksander Wielki podbił imperium perskie, nakazał tę świętą księgę zniszczyć. Została ona odtwarzana przez bardzo długi czas, by ostateczną redakcję uzyskać dopiero za panowania szacha Szapura II (309-379) z dynastii Sasanidów. Istniejąca obecnie Awesta składa się z dwudziestu jeden ksiąg (nasków) i dzieli się na kilka części. Oferowana księga zawiera całość świętego tekstu: Wendidad, Sîrôzahy, Yasty, Nyâyisy, Yasna, Visparad, Âfrînagân, Gâhs i pozostałe fragmenty.
