He is best known for the allegorical novella Animal Farm and the dystopian novel Nineteen Eighty-Four.   1984, is a dystopian social science fiction novel by the English novelist George Orwell. 1984 centers on the consequences of totalitarianism, mass surveillance, and repressive regimentation of persons and behaviors within society. Orwell, himself a democratic socialist, modeled the totalitarian government in the novel after Stalinist Russia and Nazi Germany. More broadly, the novel examines the role of truth and facts within politics and the ways in which they are manipulated.

George Orwell (1903-1950) – angielski pisarz, dziennikarz, uczestnik wojny hiszpańskiej po stronie republikańskiej (swoje doświadczenia z tych czasów opisał w doskonałej reporterskiej ale i głęboko socjologiczno-filozoficznej książce W hołdzie Katalonii), socjalista z przekonań, ale zarazem radykalny przeciwnik systemów totalitarnych. Uznawany za twórcę najwybitniejszych dystopii XX wieku – Folwark zwierzęcy  i właśnie 1984. Najważniejszą i chyba najsłynniejszą książką Orwella jest 1984.  Ta ponura antyutopia rozgrywa się w rządzonym przez totalitarny reżim Wielkiego Brata Londynie, a cały świat podzielony jest na trzy walczące ze sobą bloki państw-supermocarstw. Choć może to wcale nieprawda. Bowiem w świecie 1984  słowa straciły już swoje znaczenie, a dwa plus dwa nie musi już równać się cztery. Wszak główny bohater powieści Winston Smith pracuje w Ministerstwie Prawdy, które zajmuje się manipulacją, propagandą i dezinformacją. A działa jeszcze Ministerstwo Pokoju, które zajmuje się Wojną. Ministerstwo Miłości prześladowaniem obywateli, utrzymywaniem przy pomocy siły porządku, egzekucjami i torturami. A Ministerstwo Obfitości – rozdawaniem głodowych racji dla motłochu. Pewnie nie wszystkie cechy tego Orwellowskiego systemu dostrzegamy w naszej rzeczywistości, ale wiele z nich ciągle się nam we współczesnym świecie objawia. I nie chodzi tylko o Północną Koreę! Musicie kupić tę książkę, bo może już niedługo – jak za czasów PRL – będzie zakazana!

He is best known for the allegorical novella Animal Farm and the dystopian novel Nineteen Eighty-Four.   A Clergyman's Daughter is a 1935 novel by English author George Orwell. It tells the story of Dorothy Hare, the clergyman's daughter of the title, whose life is turned upside down when she suffers an attack of amnesia.

Here we see events starting from the revolution and ending with the final collapse of all the hopes of the inhabitants of the court, the reduction of all sacred commandments to a simple and precise formula: All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others.

The book tells the story of a group of farm animals who rebel against their human farmer, hoping to create a society where the animals can be equal, free, and happy. Ultimately, the rebellion is betrayed, and the farm ends up in a state as bad as it was before, under the dictatorship of a pig named Napoleon.

“As I Please“ is a book by George Orwell, an English novelist, essayist, and journalist. He is best known for the allegorical novella Animal Farm and the dystopian novel Nineteen Eighty-Four.   "As I Please" was a series of articles written between 1943 and 1947 for the British left-wing newspaper Tribune by author and journalist George Orwell. On resigning from his job at the BBC in November 1943, Orwell joined Tribune as literary editor. Over the next three-and-a-half years, he wrote a series of columns, under the title "As I Please", that remain some of the greatest examples of their genre in the English language.
