Na pytanie doktora, czy taki proceder jest bezkarny, detektyw wyjaśnia, że należałoby pozwać szantażystę do sądu i udowodnić mu wymuszenie, co oznaczałoby upublicznienie sprawy, czego ofiary starają się uniknąć.
