Kirby ODonnell is a Howard hero less familiar to most readers. Howard only wrote three stories about ODonnells exploits, of which only two actually saw print during his lifetime -- The Treasures of Tartary and Swords of Shahrazar -- neither in Weird Tales.
Henry Rider Haggard combines romance and travel in his story. This is a story about how Allan Quatermain met his first wife, Marie. Two dangerous criminals are trying to kill the main character and take away his wife. This story captures the reader from the first pages, because first we see the greatest battle. However, in the end, readers will witness the emotional ending of this story.
Иван Сергеевич Тургенев, Iwan Siergiejewicz Turgieniew
«Все великое земное разлетается, как дым... Но добрые дела не разлетаются дымом, они долговечнее самой сияющей красоты...» В романе русского классика Ивана Тургенева «Дым» раскрывается тема трагедии русского интеллигента, честного, умного, одаренного, но вечно мятущегося, не способного ни жить в мире с собой, ни отдаться любви, ни быть полезным обществу.
Polskie hymny i pieśni patriotyczne.
Polskie hymny narodowe; 2. Pieśni religijne; 3. Śpiewy, pieśni i piosenki z okresu Pierwszej Rzeczypospolitej; 4. Pieśni powstań narodowych XIX wieku; 5. Popularne piosenki z XIX stulecia; 6. Pieśni i piosenki legionowe; 7. Pieśni i piosenki harcerskie. Teksty najpopularniejszych utworów zostały uzupełnione zapisem nutowym.

John Buchan (1875-1940) was a Scottish novelist and historian and also served as Canadas Governor General. His 100 works include nearly thirty novels, seven collections of short stories and biographies. But, the most famous of his books were the adventure and spy thrillers, most notably The Thirty-Nine Steps, and it is for these that he is now best remembered. A Lodge in the Wilderness (1906) is a quasi-novel about an imaginary conference arranged by a multi-millionaire, Francis Carey, at a lodge, Musuru, located on the East Kenyan Plateau some 9000 feet above sea level, to discuss Empire. The conference is made up of nine men and nine women, taken from the upper and professional classes.
The Tin Woodman, assisted by Woot the Wanderer, the Scarecrow of Oz, and Polychrome, the Rainbows Daughter are on an adventure searching for the pretty Munchkin girl that the Tin Woodman loved before the Old Witch of the East turned his body to tin, causing him to lose his heart. In a series of adventures sure to thrill Oz fans both old and new, these beloved friends face such challenges as a selfish giantess and a group of quarrelsome dragons all to fulfill a promise made long ago to a beautiful Munchkin girl. The Tin Woodman of Oz is the twelfth Land of Oz book written by L. Frank Baum and was originally published on May 13, 1918. This novel provides a backstory for the original novel The Wizard of Oz and reversed a trend of declining sales for the series, perhaps as a result of a desire for nostalgia amid the carnage of World War I. The book was dedicated to the authors grandson Frank Alden Baum.

The local police Sergeant is hot on the trail, as items of clothing and jewellery belonging to Angelina are discovered. Theres serious trouble ahead, but fortunately Dr. Thorndyke, the great medico-legal expert, will take a keen interest in the young womans troubles, through the championship of Dr. Strangeways. This novel deals with some very modern themes: domestic violence, gender inequalities, drug addiction and advanced methods of forensic science as practiced by Dr. Thorndyke.
This novel is a great document illustrating the anticipation of comings of the 20th century. This early H.G. Wells tale is about a 20 year old man who has a job as a Drapers Assistant, a job which he is probably too old for. Loaded with poor self esteem and a second class status, poor Mr. Hoopdriver takes a ten day holiday. On this holiday he falls for a young socialite named Jessie who is rebelling against her stepmother and society. She soon falls prey to a married man that had designs on compromising her but the hero Mr. Hoopdriver comes like a knight in shining armor, to her rescue. The Wheels of Chance A Bicycling Idyll follows the adventures of a Drapers Assistant who, having brought an ancient bicycle, sets off on a 2 week tour of the countryside. And his world will never be the same again.
Written two years before Jane Eyre, The Professor was Charlotte Brontes first novel and was based on her experiences in Brussels. The story is one of love and doubt, as the hero, William Crimsworth, seeks his fortune as a teacher in Brussels and finds his love for the good Anglo-Swiss girl, Frances Henri, severely tested by the sensuously beguiling and manipulative headmistress, Zoroade Reuter. On the other hand, the social protest sounded distinctly in this novel that is typical for mature works of Charlotte Bronte. In particular, this protest is expressed in the image of a soulless, prudent businessman, the factory owner Edward Crimsworth who devoided of basic humanity in dealing with workers and their families.
Madame Rosika Storey was one of the most celebrated fictional female private investigators during the Golden Age of the mystery (1920-40). The Encyclopedia of Mystery and Detection calls her, a stunningly beautiful young woman who describes herself as a practical psychologist specializing in the feminine. This one is the best private detective of England, but her stories are international. Her way to resolve the mystery is original and bring you in a new world. So we are introduced to the fascinating Madame Rosika Storey, fearless and intelligent, who plays cat-and-mouse with killers, goes undercover to break up criminal gangs, and unravels deadly mysteries.
Thorne Smith best-remembered for humorous novels, many turning on some fantastic plot device which thrusts the protagonist into grotesque predicaments, often via unwitting transformation. The 1926 publication of Topper brought the author immediate acclaim. Elegant, fun-loving George and Marion Kerby are the toast of the town, until they wreck their flashy car and discover theyve become, well, ghosts. Making the best of a bad situation, they decide that being dead is the perfect opportunity to liven up stuffy Cosmo Topper. The capricious ghosts make it their mission to rescue the law-abiding, mild-mannered bank manager from the staid summer of suburban Sundays that is his life. With their ectoplasmic reappearances and whimsically insane actions, they leave Topper, and anyone else who crosses their path, in a whirlwind of discomfiture and delight.
