Powiadano bowiem, że od chwili, kiedy kopacz wstępuje w koszyk zawieszony nad przepaścią, w którym spuszcza się do wnętrza kopalni, życie jego znajduje się w ciągłym niebezpieczeństwie. Mimo tego znalazła się młoda dziewczyna, która zmuszona była poświecić się pracy górniczej, by zarobić pieniądze potrzebne do opieki nad chorym ojcem.

Ein berüchtigter Verbrecher nimmt das Aussehen seiner Opfer an, um so ihre Bankkonten zu plündern. Bald nennt die Presse ihn den Doppelgänger.

Operating on the fringes of lawlessness, Bryce uses his brains and brawn to protect a range of the firms more vulnerable and downright gullible clients. His new career as a detective creates a compelling tale of adventure. Most of his adventures involve rescuing various damsels in distress from the clutches of men who are far from gentle. The tales are told with real zip, with a dash of grit and humor. Eventually, however, he is overpowered caught in the tender grip of love from which he has no desire to escape.

Utwór dramatyczny należący do cyklu dramatów Dziady. Powstawał w latach 1832 w Dreźnie. Ze względu na miejsce powstania niekiedy określany mianem Dziadów drezdeńskich. Dramat cechuje nieciągłość, fragmentaryczność i otwarta, swobodna kompozycja. Żaden z licznych wątków fabularnych nie został ukończony. Do całego cyklu nawiązuje scena IX (obrzęd tytułowych Dziadów). Plan historyczny utworu dzieli się na dwie części jawną (oficjalny wymiar rzeczywistości) i ukrytą (martyrologia, spiski i walka narodowowyzwoleńcza). W części jawnej poeta staje się bezlitosnym analitykiem i krytycznym obserwatorem zaprezentowanej w utworze zbiorowości. W części ukrytej autor zawarł swoją drezdeńską koncepcję martyrologicznej historii Polski. Przez badaczy trzecia część Dziadów jest uznawana za arcydzieło polskiego dramatu romantycznego, m.in. ze względu na połączenie w jednym utworze problematyki polityczno-historycznej z metafizyczną.

1926. Arthur Cheney Train (1875-1945) was the former assistant district attorney in New York City. His interactions with clients, together with his experiences in the courtroom, provided the material for the more than 250 short stories and novels he would write during his lifetime. Train wrote dozens of stories about fictional lawyer Ephraim Tutt in the Saturday Evening Post. He also coauthored two science fiction novels with eminent physicist Robert W. Wood. After 1922, he devoted himself to writing. In The Blind Goddess, Hugh Dillon, a young lawyer, becomes a public prosecutor in New York City, and is soon forced to choose between his idealistic view of duty, and Moria Evans, the girl he loves, under circumstances, that seem to spell the end of his career.

Classic light comedy, fully sustained in the spirit of the plays of this genre. As is characteristic of the dramaturgy of this epoch, the obviousness of the incipient intrigue does not spoil the general charm of the play at all, and the onslaught of free irony and elegant juggling with words and meanings delivers true enjoyment. The plot tells about the creation of a union of two pairs, very different from each other. The wedding of the first couple has already been discussed, and preparations are underway. The second couple still does not even realize that a sharp reversal of fate will happen soon.
