The White Company

Arthur Conan Doyle

The White Company is the story of Alleyne Edricsons quest to win the hand of his lady love, the Lady Maud Loring. The place is England and the Continent, the year is 1366 during the reign of the King of the English, Edward III, and his realm is twenty-nine years into The Hundred Years War with France. Setting off on his adventures, he finds himself part of the White Company a group of mercenary archers en route to France. A roistering tale of knight-errantry follows, with Alleynes quest to justify himself and his love the focus of the piece. The White Company is a very well researched novel, in which many historical characters appear to lend credence to the narrative and the book ends on a predictably happy ending.

Córka wiatru. Przebudzenie 2

Cherie Dale

Sny rodem z pradawnych legend powoli zaczynają mieszać jej się z rzeczywistością, a strach przed nadchodzącym świętem Luny, uroczystością z okazji całkowitego zaćmienia księżyca, zmusza nastolatkę do ciągłego trwania w gotowości. Ktoś stale obserwuje czarownicę i skutecznie manipuluje jej przeznaczeniem. Magiczna przepowiednia zaczęła się już bowiem spełniać.     Zło nie zawsze kryje się w sercu skalanym nienawiścią… Czasami to miłość budzi w nas największe potwory...

Cow Country

B.M. Bower

This is a solid, basic cowboy story from B. M. Bower, an early work of hers on the standard ranching setting she writes many more times. This is one of her stories. This follows the life of a boy from very early youth until he finds his own way and establishes his name. Through hazards, difficulties and dangers, Bob sets out to discover life for himself. With awfully wild terrain and red-Indians around him, he has to find his way. More than the threats posed by nature are those that are created by other humans. A tale of swashbuckling adventures! B.M Bower had a gift for writing Westerns, weaving tales of adventure, intrigue, mystery, and romance often with surprise endings.

Deep Learning with Theano. Perform large-scale numerical and scientific computations efficiently

Christopher Bourez

This book offers a complete overview of Deep Learning with Theano, a Python-based library that makes optimizing numerical expressions and deep learning models easy on CPU or GPU.The book provides some practical code examples that help the beginner understand how easy it is to build complex neural networks, while more experimented data scientists will appreciate the reach of the book, addressing supervised and unsupervised learning, generative models, reinforcement learning in the fields of image recognition, natural language processing, or game strategy. The book also discusses image recognition tasks that range from simple digit recognition, image classification, object localization, image segmentation, to image captioning. Natural language processing examples include text generation, chatbots, machine translation, and question answering. The last example deals with generating random data that looks real and solving games such as in the Open-AI gym. At the end, this book sums up the best -performing nets for each task. While early research results were based on deep stacks of neural layers, in particular, convolutional layers, the book presents the principles that improved the efficiency of these architectures, in order to help the reader build new custom nets.

Learn Docker - Fundamentals of Docker 18.x. Everything you need to know about containerizing your applications and running them in production

Gabriel N. Schenker

Docker containers have revolutionized the software supply chain in small and big enterprises. Never before has a new technology so rapidly penetrated the top 500 enterprises worldwide. Companies that embrace containers and containerize their traditional mission-critical applications have reported savings of at least 50% in total maintenance cost and a reduction of 90% (or more) of the time required to deploy new versions of those applications. Furthermore they are benefitting from increased security just by using containers as opposed to running applications outside containers. This book starts from scratch, introducing you to Docker fundamentals and setting up an environment to work with it. Then we delve into concepts such as Docker containers, Docker images, Docker Compose, and so on. We will also cover the concepts of deployment, orchestration, networking, and security. Furthermore, we explain Docker functionalities on public clouds such as AWS.By the end of this book, you will have hands-on experience working with Docker containers and orchestrators such as SwarmKit and Kubernetes.
