I o każdej z tych grup krążą opowieści dumny jak Masaj, zdolny jak Czaga czy leniwy jak Gogo. Ta afrykańska mozaika została opisana barwnie i z humorem, choć nie brak tu refleksji i analitycznego podejścia. Książka opowiada o miejscach, zdarzeniach, ale przede wszystkim o ludziach, których autor spotkał na swojej drodze. To spojrzenie na świat oczami podróżnika, dla którego Afryka stała się drugim domem. Jerzy Gilarowski jest geografem, specjalizuje się w problematyce afrykańskiej.
