Zastosowano nowoczesny język geometrii różniczkowej, wprowadzony w drugiej połowie XX wieku i używany obecnie powszechnie. W tym przypadku jest to język wiązek wektorowych, operatorów różniczkowych i algebry tensorowej. Podręcznik ten może być przydatny dla studentów, i pracowników naukowych, kierunków matematycznych, fizycznych i ogólnie ścisłych, zarówno uniwersytetów, jak i politechnik.

Geometria jest najstarszą gałęzią matematyki, która powstała w starożytności, a usystematyzowana została przez Euklidesa około 300 lat p.n.e. Geometria przestrzenna określa związki i ustala relacje między elementami przestrzeni, a związane z tym zagadnienia możemy rozwiązywać metodą graficzną, wykorzystując odwzorowanie przestrzeni na płaszczyznę otrzymane za pomocą rzutowania. Pierwszym, który opracował i podał teoretyczne podstawy metody rzutów równoległych na dwie płaszczyzny był znakomity matematyk francuski Gaspard Monge (1746−1818) i dlatego jest uważany za twórcę geometrii wykreślnej jako nauki. Obecnie znajomość geometrii wykreślnej jest niezbędna w projektowaniu obiektów przestrzennych i tworzeniu dokumentacji technicznych, umożliwia czytanie rysunków przedstawiających figury przestrzenne oraz pozwala na analizę przestrzennych własności tych figur. W dobie komputerów i gotowych programów graficznych twórcze korzystanie z tych dobrodziejstw wymaga rozwiniętej i poprawnie ukształtowanej wyobraźni przestrzennej, a to zapewnia studiowanie geometrii wykreślnej, w czym mam nadzieję pomoże ten skrypt.
