Cette histoire est la fois simple et complexe la fois: deux amoureux vont en Italie, mais ils ny trouvent pas le bonheur, mais vivent la tragédie dun malentendu mutuel et la breche pour les deux. Mais la signification du roman ne se limite pas au conflit de caracteres, car les deux personnages sont des artistes talentueux, ce qui introduit le probleme de la personne créatrice et les lois de la créativité dans le roman.
