Ethel May Dell Savage (1881-1939) was a British author known by her pen name Ethel M. Dell. She wrote over 30 popular romance novels and numerous of short stories between 1911-1939. Her stories were romantic in nature, often set in India and other old British colonies, and were considered quite racy for the time.

He has a love interest, gets into some fights and annoys his aunt on nearly every page.In the end, Tom and Huck trap Injun Joe inside of a cave and recover his stolen gold, making themselves rich. Tom is a fairly good example of the average youngster. While his adventures may be grander than most, his selfishness and lack of compassion is not.

During and after the First World War, Edgar Wallace wrote several story and article series for the Glasgow Sunday Post, a weekly newspaper founded in 1915 by the Scottish shipping and media magnate David Couper Thomson. Some of these series were published under Wallaces own name, others including the present work under the house-author name of John Anstruther. The story The Elusive Dud is fast-paced with some surprising twists, well written and great to read. Wallace was a very prolific writer despite his sudden death at age 56. In total Wallace is credited with over 170 novels, almost 1,000 short stories, and 18 stage plays. Wallaces works have been turned into well over 100 films.

An interesting read. Ken and Hal go canoeing in Mexico. The writing has a very early 20th century feel to it, it almost feels as though Im watching an old classic movie on Saturday afternoon. It provides a curious insight into the beginnings of writing adventure novels.

He is barely able to pay his bills, has a wife who seems him only as a wallet, and two children whose most favorable opinion of him is disappointment. He answers a letter from a lawyer, and finds out that he has inherited a fortune. What he does with it, where he moves, how he educates himself, and whom he loves form the rest of the story?
