Mąż przyznawał, że jest to zabawne, choć nie wiedział, dlaczego odwracała głowę od okna, ale żona wiedziała, że robi to z obawy. Naprzeciw nich bowiem było inne okno, a w niem pewien żółty starzec z rzadkiemi faworytami siwemi. Ile razy młodzi poczynali się całować, tyle razy staruch ukazywał się w swojem oknie, w białej szlafmycy, z ponsowym fontaziem na wierzchu, i śmiał się, mrużąc oko i pokazując jeden ząb taki żółty, jak on sam.  Helunia ze złości kupiła dziesięć łokci muślinu i pozasłaniała wszystkie okna. Od tej pory, zamiast skrzywionej twarzy sąsiada, widziała tylko ponsowy fontaź jego szlafmycy, który trząsł się jak galareta, prawdopodobnie z wielkiej irytacji. Dobrze tak dziadziskowi, niech się nie śmieje!...”

“Getting Married” is a play by George Bernard Shaw, an Irish playwright who became the leading dramatist of his generation, and in 1925 was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature.   Getting Married is a play by George Bernard Shaw. First performed in 1908, it features a cast of family members who gather together for a marriage. The play analyses and satirises the status of marriage in Shaw's day, with a particular focus on the necessity of liberalising divorce laws.

“Annajanska, the Bolshevik Empress” is a play by George Bernard Shaw, an Irish playwright who became the leading dramatist of his generation, and in 1925 was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature.   “Annajanska, the Bolshevik Empress” is a one-act play by George Bernard Shaw, written in 1917. The play is obviously influenced by the Russian Revolution that year. It takes place in an imaginary country which has recently experienced a similar revolution. The two main characters are the daughter of the ruler, who once ran away to join the circus as a girl, and now supports the revolution, and an army officer who opposes it.

The Penningtons have a beautiful estate, and affectionate relationships with their children, Custer and Eva. Custer has had an "understanding" with neighbor and childhood friend Grace Evans for a long time, but she finally confides that she wants to try being an actress before she agrees to settle down on the ranch.

He is best known for the allegorical novella Animal Farm and the dystopian novel Nineteen Eighty-Four.   1984, is a dystopian social science fiction novel by the English novelist George Orwell. 1984 centers on the consequences of totalitarianism, mass surveillance, and repressive regimentation of persons and behaviors within society. Orwell, himself a democratic socialist, modeled the totalitarian government in the novel after Stalinist Russia and Nazi Germany. More broadly, the novel examines the role of truth and facts within politics and the ways in which they are manipulated.
