Roddington jedoch lässt die Rohre mit Schiffen zu einer Stelle des Pazifiks transportieren, an der der Meeresgrund durch ein Seebeben bei sagenhaften 15.000 Meter Tiefe liegt. Mithilfe schwimmender Plattformen und Riesenkräne formt er nun aus diesen Rohren eine gigantische Röhre, die vom Wasserspiegel bis zum Grund des Pazifiks ja sogar noch Hunderte Meter unter diesen reicht. Roddington selbst und seine Mitstreiter fahren nun per in der Röhre eingebautem Aufzug hinab zum Meersgrund.
