Jeden z głównych bohaterów, James Burbank, zostaje napadnięty przez dawnego wroga, Texara. Jego córka zostaje porwana, a mężczyzna wraz z synem Gilbertem wyruszają w niebezpieczną podróż aby ją uwolnić.

“Thuvia, Maid of Mars“ is a novel by Edgar Rice Burroughs, an American fiction writer, who created such great characters as Tarzan and John Carter of Mars.   Thuvia, Maid of Mars is a science fantasy novel, the fourth of the Barsoom series. It features the characters of John Carter and Carter's wife Dejah Thoris.  Full of swordplay and daring feats, the series is considered a classic example of 20th-century pulp fiction. The story is set on Mars, imagined as a dying planet with a harsh desert environment. This vision of Mars was based on the work of the astronomer Percival Lowell, whose ideas were widely popularized in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

“Captain Brassbound's Conversion” is a play by George Bernard Shaw, an Irish playwright who became the leading dramatist of his generation, and in 1925 was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature.   The play explores the relationship between the law, justice, revenge and forgiveness. Sir Howard Hallam, a judge, and his sister-in-law, Lady Cicely Waynflete, a well-known explorer, are at the home of Rankin, a Presbyterian minister. Sir Howard tells Rankin that his brother's property was illicitly seized after his death by his widow's family, but Sir Howard has now recovered it. Lady Cicely decides to explore Morocco with Sir Howard. They are advised to take an armed escort.

„Sprawiedliwie„ to powieść Władysława Reymonta, pisarza, prozaika i nowelisty, laureata Nagrody Nobla w dziedzinie literatury.   Główny bohater ucieka z więzienia do rodzinnej wsi. Został skazany na trzyletni areszt za to, że pobił rządcę – a uczynił to w obronie honoru swojej ukochanej. Jego przybycie przysporzy jednak wielu kłopotów mieszkańcom wsi.  

The Hound of the Baskervilles

The Hound of the Baskervilles - a novel by Arthur Conan Doyle, a British writer and medical doctor. He created the characters of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson. The Sherlock Holmes stories are considered milestones in the field of crime fiction.   Dr James Mortimer calls on Sherlock Holmes in London for advice after his friend Sir Charles Baskerville was found dead in the yew alley of his manor on Dartmoor in Devon. The death was attributed to a heart attack, but according to Mortimer, Sir Charles's face retained an expression of horror, and not far from the corpse the footprints of a gigantic hound were clearly visible. According to an old legend, a curse runs in the Baskerville family since the time of the English Civil War, when Hugo Baskerville abducted and caused the death of a maiden on the moor, only to be killed in turn by a huge demonic hound. Allegedly the same creature has been haunting the manor ever since, causing the premature death of many Baskerville heirs. Sir Charles believed in the plague of the hound and so does Mortimer, who now fears for the next in line, Sir Henry Baskerville.

“John Bull's Other Island” is a play by George Bernard Shaw, an Irish playwright who became the leading dramatist of his generation, and in 1925 was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature.   John Bull's Other Island is a comedy about Ireland, written by George Bernard Shaw in 1904. Shaw himself was born in Dublin, yet this is one of only two plays of his where he thematically returned to his homeland, the other being O’Flaherty V.C.

“Wojna chocimska” to utwór Ignacego Krasickiego, jednego z głównych przedstawicieli polskiego oświecenia. Nazywany „księciem poetów polskich”.   Poemat opisuje walki hetmana Jana Karola Chodkiewicza podczas wojny polsko-tureckiej 1620-1621. Krasicki, mający już w dorobku parodystyczne utwory Myszeida i Monachomachia, próbował w Wojnie chocimskiej stworzyć poważny poemat heroiczny.
