Fighting Snub Reilly is one of the mystery story from collection which includes eight short mysteries by Edgar Wallace, a famous British author of mystery genre. There are others: Jimmys Brother, The Christmas Cup, The Man In The Golf Hut, A Romance In Brown, The Perfect Gentleman, Kid-Glove Harry, Nig-Nog. Edgar Wallace was a British author who is best known for creating King Kong. Wallace was a very prolific writer despite his sudden death at age 56. In total Wallace is credited with over 170 novels, almost 1,000 short stories, and 18 stage plays. Wallaces works have been turned into well over 100 films.

Each fable has a moral of sorts, a captivating way to inspire children to selfless, gentle, loving behavior. Readers meet a cast of elves, fairies, brownies and sprites with such Shakespearean names as Willy Wisp, Moonbeam and Thistledown, and the children who occasionally dally with them. Thinly disguised morality lessons told in an over-upholstered style, they instruct the audience in the importance of various virtues. This is a nice collection of fairy tales that is sure to please young readers and the adults reading to them alike.

Na przesłuchaniach K. nieudolnie protestuje przeciwko osaczeniu go przez władzę sądową. Nie udaje mu się jednak zmienić tej sytuacji. Zaczyna więc szukać pomocy u innych: żony woźnego sądowego, wuja Karola, prawnika Hulda, malarza sądowego Titorelliego, innego oskarżonego Blocka, w końcu u więziennego kapelana. Uzyskane od nich informacje są jednak niepełne i niespójne. Życie Józefa K. staje się pasmem absurdalnych zdarzeń. Siłą opowieści Proces jest jej niezwykła atmosfera. Nieokreśloność winy Józefa K. pozakazuje, że każdy z nas może być osądzony. Autor wyraźnie nawiązuje do procesów inkwizycyjnych. Jest to też niewątpliwie opowieść o totalitaryzmie. Przy czym instytucją totalitarną staje się sąd, który odbiera bohaterowi prawo do obrony.

Ein sizilianischer Bauernsohn geht 1780 in die Berge und trommelt eine Banditenbande zusammen. Gemeinsam überfallen sie Klöster und haben es auf die Geldbeutel der Reichen abgesehen. Die Gesetzeshüter sind schon lange hinter dem Kopf der Bande her. Doch erst als seine Schwäche für Frauenzimmer den Räuberhauptmann immer unvorsichtiger werden lässt, scheint seine Gefangennahme unausweichlich. Es ist die wahre Geschichte des Räubers Capitano Angelo Duca, die Vulpius 1799 als Vorlage für seinen weltberühmten Räuberroman diente.
