Barnaby Rudge. A Tale of the Riots of Eighty
Based around the Gordon riots of 1780 as seen through the eyes of the simple but good-hearted Barnaby Rudge. This is Dickens fifth novel and it was his first attempt to write an historical novel and was inspired by the Walter Scotts novels. It is the most neglected, but most rewarding tale of treachery, forbidden love, abduction and the dangerous power of the mob. Barnaby Rudge is a half-witted young innocent simpleton who is devoted to his talkative raven, Grip. When he gets caught up in the mayhem of the Gordon riots and a mysterious unsolved murder, his life is put in jeopardy. And, as London erupts into riot, Barnaby Rudge himself struggles to escape the curse of his own past. With its dramatic descriptions of public violence and private horror, its strange secrets and ghostly doublings, Barnaby Rudge is a powerful, disturbing blend of historical realism and Gothic melodrama.
The Master Key. An Electrical Fairy Tale
The Master Key: An Electrical Fairy Tale was one of Baums earliest full length fantasy books for children, published in 1901 just one year after The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. Rob Joslyn is in most respects an ordinary American teenager; his one distinguishing peculiarity is his passion for the new science and craft of electricity. He has his own laboratory in the attic of the family home, and has rigged the house with his electrical gadgets. One day, amid the bewildering cluster of circuits and wires in his workshop, Rob causes a blinding flash of light from which emerges the Demon of Electricity. A young boy receives a series of gifts, electrical gifts, and has a series of unusual adventures. Rob travels the world, rendering assistance to European heads of state and narrowly escaping disaster at the hands of primitive cannibals, Turks and Tatars, pirates, and evil scientists who try to steal his inventions.
Very engaging tale of the South Seas, by the author of Mutiny on the Bounty, who was quite familiar with the area. This book has the same seafaring merit but is set in the pearl atolls of the southwestern Pacific. Into The Pearl Lagoon Charles Nordhoff wove his love and knowledge of the South Pacific islands and their people. It is his only story written through the eyes of young people. It is an adventure story about a California young boy, Charlie Selden who leaves his fathers ranch and is taken by his sailor uncle to the South Pacific on a pearl-hunting trip: encounters with sharks and pirates ensue. The Pearl Lagoon is an adventure book for boys especially, furnished with semi-autobiographical details. The story rings true today and is in all ways entertaining!
England has not been invited to attend a conference of European nations in the Hague. Some think war is about to break out. The Vanished Messenger presents the international intrigue and conspiracy of the Powers against England to separate her from her colonies. Mr. John P. Dunster, an American, is traveling to the Hague with an important document that may prevent the outbreak of war when he mysteriously disappears after a train wreck in England. Richard Hamel is asked by the British government to attempt to solve the mystery of Dunsters disappearance and prevent the outbreak of war in Europe. Intriguing spy novel with a murder, espionage and dramatic denouement nicely plotted and fully developed characters.

Silently, without warning they came, those fishermen of deep space who spread their net for man living flying saucers the Earth must destroy yet who multiplied by dying! Spawn of the Comet is a short alien invasion story by Otis Adelbert Kline. Otis Adelbert Kline (18911946) born in Chicago, Illinois, USA, was an adventure novelist and literary agent during the pulp era. He is best known for his interplanetary adventure novels set on Venus and Mars, which instantly became science-fiction classics. Much of his work first appeared in the magazine Weird Tales. Kline was an amateur orientalist and a student of Arabic, like his friend and sometime collaborator, E. Hoffmann Price. Recommended for lovers of the offbeat.

Dzięki niej odbywa podróż do odległej przyszłości. Odkrycie skłania naukowca do refleksji nad kolejami ludzkiej ewolucji.
Edgar Wallace was an English writer. Born into poverty as an illegitimate London child, joining the army at 21, he was a war correspondent during the Second Boer War for Reuters and The Daily Mail. During the First World War Edgar Wallace wrote a number of morale-boosting tales about the skill and derring-do of the British military and intelligence services, mostly in the form of series published under such titles as Clarence-Private. Several series were published in the form of dramatic pseudo-documentary accounts of what he claimed to be true stories. Clarence-Private is a fine series of Wallace stories about wartime espionage.
Leśna Różyczka (Tom 3). Leśna Różyczka. Skarby i krokodyle
Skarby i krokodyle to trzeci tom przygód z cyklu Leśna Różyczka, czyli prześladowania dookoła świata. Around the World in Eighty Days
The hero of the novel, Phileas Fogg, made a bet that he would be able to circumnavigate the globe from west to east in no more than 80 days, given the technical capabilities of 19th century transport. Foggs journey begins in England, and then he goes to France, Italy, Egypt, India, China, Japan and America. In India, Fogg and his servant, Jean Passepartout, save the beautiful Audu, who is about to be burned alive with the body of her late husband. Subsequently, she becomes Foggs wife. Detective Fix fixes the journey: the police are convinced that it was Fogg who stole a large sum from the Bank of England, and betting is an opportunity to evade punishment.
Zapewnia znakomitą rozrywkę, urzekając celnymi i błyskotliwymi dialogami, wyraziście zarysowanymi, pełnymi humoru postaciami i niezwykłym stosunkiem do natury.
Ród Rodrigandów (Tom 3). Ród Rodrigandów. Cyganie i przemytnicy
Edward Phillips Oppenheim (1866 1946), an English novelist, was a major and successful writer of genre fiction, particularly thrillers. Among his books are The Betrayal, The Avenger, The Double Life of Mr. Alfred Burton, The Devils Paw, and The Evil Shepherd. Many of Oppenheims works appeared as newspaper or magazine serials before they were published in book form. The serial versions of his novels were often syndicated for publication in periodicals in the USA and other English-speaking countries. One Little Thread of Life made its first appearance in 1899 in The Weekly Telegraph, Sheffield, England. Mr. Oppenheim can be depended upon to give his plots that turn which is as admirable as it is unexpected, and this is one of the best of his many good and exciting books.
All events take place in Africa, in the imaginary kingdom, or perhaps one should say queendom of Mur, ruled by Maqueda, a descendant King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba. This time Rider tells about two more lost tribes of Africa. Due to the contradictions between them, one of them faces death. The ring of Queen Sheba given to Dr. Richard Adams is a sign of well-deserved reward for the salvation of the people and the destruction of the main enemy.

Follow Thornes amazing adventures on this distant world as he attempts to fulfill his obligations. The Swordsman of Mars novel is one of the five planetary romances written by Kline in the 1930s. Considered by many to be the only true equal of Edgar Rice Burroughs, Otis Adelbert Kline was a master of the sword and planet genre. His adventure novels became science-fiction classics.
Lew Nikołajewicz Tołstoj
